Getting help
Where to ask a question or report a wrong result, and what to include so we can help quickly.
1. Check the docs
Most questions are answered in Reading the report, Not ready yet: what to do, Files that could not be checked and the FAQ.
2. Ask on the support forum
Questions and problems go to the CompatNav support forum on wordpress.org. It’s free and public, so others with the same question find the answer too. You need a free wordpress.org account to post.
Please include:
- your CompatNav version (Plugins screen), WordPress version, and the PHP version your site runs today;
- the PHP version you chose under Check readiness for;
- the verdict at the top of the report (copy the sentence, or a screenshot);
- what you expected, and what happened instead;
- for a scan that doesn’t finish: the message shown in the scan box.
Don’t post passwords, private links, or anything about your customers. The report only contains plugin names, file paths and technical messages, but you decide what to share: often the part about one plugin is enough.
Found a wrong result?
A finding that looks wrong, or a problem CompatNav missed: please tell us on the forum with the plugin name and version, the file and line from For the developer, and the PHP version you chose. We treat wrong results as bugs.
Private questions
